Sherry Fruit Trifle(1)

  • 1 x 115g ready-made pot of jelly
  • ½ (32g) packet instant custard powder, or 2 tsp custard powder and 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 bottles Fortisip Compact, vanilla flavour
  • 1 small can fruit (drained weight 10g), or fresh fruit
  • 15ml (3tsp) sherry†, optional
  • 1 packet dream topping (36g)
  • Sprinkles to decorate, optional



  1. Prepare two glasses or two dishes
  2. Place 50g of fruit into the base of each glass/dish
  3. Pour 1 tsp sherry into each glass/dish (optional)
  4. Divide the jelly between the two glasses/dishes on top of the fruit
  5. Make up the custard by placing the custard powder into a pan and add one bottle of Fortisip Compact
  6. Cook over a gentle heat, whisking continuously until the custard thickens - do not boil - pour the custard over the jelly and place in the fridge to set
  7. Whisk the packet of dream topping with one bottle of Fortisip Compact and the remaining tsp of sherry (optional) until it thickens
  8. Place the dream topping on top of the custard and decorate with sprinkles if desired

Can be stored covered in the fridge for up to three days
